How to Rank Higher on Google.

How to Rank Higher on Google.

Everyone wants their website to rank higher and appear on the first page of Google. You likely already know that you’ll get the best clickthrough performance from a search engine result on that page… especially if you can get near the top.

But with millions of webpages all vying for a higher position, how can you make sure your website ranks higher on Google?

Making your website more user friendly

How easy is it to get around your website? Visitors should be able to find the information they need within seconds. If you don’t have a logical format for your site, you may find people leave, frustrated.

It’s common for a new site to do well in this area, only to become overblown and difficult to navigate as it grows.

Making it more accessible

More people than ever are accessing websites on mobile devices. This means your site must be mobile friendly.

Have you ever visited a site on a smartphone or tablet and been greeted by tiny type and a weird layout that requires you to scroll from left to right to read everything?

If so, you’ve visited a site that wasn’t optimised for mobile access. It’s vital to your rankings to make sure your site performs well – and is fast to load – across all platforms.

Looking at content and keywords to Rank Higher on Google.

Always aim for the stars when you’re writing content for your website to rank higher on Google. You should have keywords in there, of course, but don’t overstuff your content with them.

Aside from the main keyword or phrase you’re trying to rank for, look at related keywords too.

We’re writing about ranking higher on Google here, so our article naturally contains words related to that topic – website, optimised, keywords, and so on.

Fortunately, most of this occurs naturally, so relax and write. When you read through the content afterwards, you’ll notice those related keywords cropping up.

Considering quality over quantity to Rank Higher on Google.

Google deems quality to be far more important than the quantity of content you have on your site. You need to make sure your content matches the information searchers want to find in order to rank higher on Google.

Google’s John Mueller when asked, “What is quality content for Google,” responded :

“I wouldn’t worry too much about what Google thinks about quality content. But rather, you need to show that you really have something that is unique and compelling and of high quality.”

And if you can supply content that answers absolutely everything a searcher wants to know about that topic, you stand a much better chance of being ranked well.

You should also ditch the short, quick to write articles and posts and go for much longer content. Start developing some deep-dive articles based around suitable keywords that you want to rank well for. Produce a definitive guide to something rather than a quick overview.

You can see how search engine optimisation and everything it involves can be daunting. Unless you know all the ins and outs of SEO – and you can keep up with the constant changes – it makes more sense to get advice on this topic.

If you’re having trouble ranking well and you’d like to get the boost in traffic and sales you’d expect if you did rank well, think about getting expert advice on your search engine optimisation needs today
